Caprica DVD Soundtrack Preorder

Amazon.com has put up a preorder page for the Caprica soundtrack. It will be released 6/16/09 under La-La Land Records. The Caprica soundtrack can be found to preorder in The Caprica Times Amazon Store along with the Caprica DVD and other Caprica related items.

In composer Bear McCreary’s blog he mentions that he’ll be posting about Caprica soon.

Mo Ryan of The Chicago Tribune has a short but sweet review of the Caprica DVD along with links to her previous interviews with the producers and cast.

Bear McCreary and the Caprica Soundtrack

In Bear McCreary’s Blog (Composer for Caprica) he recently posted that the Caprica Soundtrack will be released in stores in June and will be available from the label’s website in May.

At the end of Caprica City’s interview with Bear McCreary he speaks in more length about the music of Caprica and how it arised. An excerpt:

The score to “Caprica” in general is simpler, much more western. It’s much more classical. I think I wanted to do something different and ultimately I was faced with this question, what is different than “Battlestar Galactica”?

 

Caprica Soundtrack Release

Bear McCreary recently made an announcement about the release of the Caprica TV Series Soundtrack:

“To help tide you all over, I am pleased to announce that La La Land Records will release my soundtrack to Caprica in a few weeks, basically concurrent with the DVD release. I’ll have official details up here on the blog as soon as they become available.”

Caprica Theme Song Preview

Bear McCreary is the Composer of the music for Caprica. Many will recognize his work from Battlestar Galactica. He is known to use intricate orchestral sweeps of emotion to draw out a resonating empathy for what unfolds during each episode. The theme song for Caprica proves to be another of his masterpieces – curiously somber and mysterious. Here he gives us a preview via piano:
