Captain Ahab – the musicians behind the robotic love song Zoe Graystone was dancing to in Friday’s episode, Gravedancing – has decided to release it to download for free! Get “Was Love” at their bandcamp.com site.
For more information on how that song and others from Gravedancing came to be, check out Bear McCreary’s blog. He has a fascinating look at how the themes of Caprica are developed along with clips of the songs as he describes them to listen to. One highlight is the song from the radio in Sam Adama’s car and the eerie way that the instruments from Caprica were blended in to underscore Amanda Graystone’s climbing dread.

In fact, Caprica’s fame has reached an Earth friend of ours, The New York Times. The article goes into depth about the old car models used on Caprica and how they add ambience to the show. Richard Hudolin, the production designer, mentions that a mixing of old and new technologies was also used on Battlestar Galactica.
These cars have been prominent in the life of Amanda Graystone, first whisking her away to saftey after her announcement at the memorial ceremony and later bringing her in harms way during a ride home from Baxter Sarno’s talk show. The actress who plays Amanda, Paula Malcomson, was recently interviewed by tvstar.com. During the interview she talks about how playing a character on Caprica relates to real life.
If you want to bring Caprica in to your real life you may be in luck! Cast and crew members from Caprica including Ronald D. Moore, David Eick, Paula Malcomson, Polly Walker, Alessandra Torresani, Magda Apanowicz and Sasha Roiz will be appearing at the Paley Center in NYC for a special Caprica Panel on March 17 at 6:30pm. Tickets go on sale to the general public Wednesday.
Be sure to tune in next week for the revival of Tamara Adama played by Genevieve Buechner!

Catch him in tomorrow’s episode, Gravedancing, to see whether or not he goes through with the hit his brother Joseph has asked him to carry out.
