Daniel Graystone is the 7th Cylon

Back after the Battlestar Galactica episode “No Exit” aired and it’s podcast was released, The Caprica Times asked, “Is Daniel Graystone the 7th Cylon?” The conclusion was that the mentioning of Daniel was a tease to make us infer that it might be the same Daniel that we know from the Caprica TV Series.

MHall of Galactica Science commented on that post, saying that Ron Moore (Executive Producer of both Battlestar Galactica and Caprica) had mentioned Daniel elsewhere in the podcast, stating, “And Daniel has significance in Caprica as well.” Relistening to the podcast, he does say this, beginning with Anders’ saying “Daniel” at 31:03 and ending at 31:12.

While there may still be another Daniel lurking the streets of Caprica the TV Series, The Caprica Times will conclude that Daniel Graystone is the seventh cylon model until he appears.

There is no way that Daniel Graystone is the 7th Cylon skinjob, unless he have a double living on Terra (aka the first Earth)

  3. Crystal Says:

Daniel Graystone could be the 7th Cylon. The skinjobs on Earth are completely separate from the 8 other models. Remember that the final five arrive in the colonial system too late to stop a war between the colonists and the cylons because the colonists have already created the cylons and begun fighting with them. In order to stop the fighting, the final five agree to help the “toaster” cylons in the colonial system to create their own skin jobs. The final five create the 8 other cylons. One of these could be modeled after Daniel Graystone. It makes a lot of sense actually since the first toaster in the colonial system is actually Zoe Graystone.

Daniel Greystone could do what Zoe had done earlier, and create an independent avatar of himself, a digital clone of his ego. This could then be transfered into a centurion body, participate in the first cylon war, and be treated as the cylon’s leader. He could also make multiple copies of his personality. One version becomes the hybrid, while a second version meets the final five, and transfers his consciousness into a humanoid cylon body to become the 8th model, Daniel (later killed by Cavil). The other big question though, is how the other seven models came to be. They must have been human to begin with, living on the colonies, perhaps all of them in the millitary, which would make sense. They have their avatars created and copied into centurion bodies, with multiple copies made, and later, under Daniel’s leadership, rebel.
