Season 1 of Caprica is now available for the US via video on demand from Amazon.com and presale from  Bestbuy.com. Best Buy is currently offering an expedited shipping arrival date of July 29th which leads The Caprica Times to believe that Season 1 will be released on July 27th (as all entertainment media is normally released on Tuesdays in the US).

Today Caprica will breathe new life into the Battlestar Galactica universe with it’s debut on television. Here’s where to catch it:

Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune recently spoke with reported that David Howe, president of Sci Fi Channel. In her interview with him he mentioned that the Caprica Television Series is likely to debut in January of 2010.

The Caprica Pilot DVD will be released tomorrow. According to Star Pulse and Yahoo! Movies here are the details on what to expect included:

In Bear McCreary’s Blog (Composer for Caprica) he recently posted that the Caprica Soundtrack will be released in stores in June and will be available from the label’s website in May.

At the end of Caprica City’s interview with Bear McCreary he speaks in more length about the music of Caprica and how it arised. An excerpt:

The score to “Caprica” in general is simpler, much more western. It’s much more classical. I think I wanted to do something different and ultimately I was faced with this question, what is different than “Battlestar Galactica”?

Bear McCreary recently made an announcement about the release of the Caprica TV Series Soundtrack:

“To help tide you all over, I am pleased to announce that La La Land Records will release my soundtrack to Caprica in a few weeks, basically concurrent with the DVD release. I’ll have official details up here on the blog as soon as they become available.”
